2017 Chevrolet Suburban vs. 2017 Lincoln Navigator
2017 Chevrolet Suburban
2017 Lincoln Navigator
The 2017 Chevrolet Suburban and the 2017 Lincoln Navigator are both compelling full-size sport utility vehicles that provide impressive capability and performance, paired with a large, upscale interior. Which one will be better for your family here in the Calumet City area? We’re here to help you figure that out.
The 2017 Chevrolet Suburban starts at $49,915 MSRP. The 2017 Lincoln Navigator starts at $63,515 MSRP. That’s a big difference, and we imagine that most drivers in Calumet City will prefer to save that $13,500 if possible.
Powertrain and Performance
While the Suburban might make a bit less power than the Lincoln, it offers superior fuel economy and more towing capacity. We think that most drivers will prefer the Suburban’s V8 powertrain to the turbocharged V6 of the Lincoln, because it delivers a better total package:
- Chevy Suburban: Every Chevy Suburban is powered by a 5.3L V8 engine that generates 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. You can expect up to 16 mpg city and 23 mpg on the highway based on EPA estimates.
- Lincoln Navigator: This model gets a turbocharged 3.5L V6 that generates 380 hp, but a lower EPA estimate of only 15 mpg city/21 mpg highway.
Warranty and Maintenance Coverage
Both of these models offer extensive warranty coverage, but the Chevy Suburban comes with 2-years/24,000-miles worth of regularly scheduled maintenance. The Lincoln does not get any included maintenance.
The Suburban offers more front and more third row head room, as well as more front and rear leg room. It also offers more cargo space with up to 39.3 cubic feet behind the last row, and up to 121.7 cubic feet of cargo space total. The Navigator doesn’t come close, with only 18.1 cubic feet of space with all seats in place, and 103.3 cubic feet of space with the second and third rows folded down.
