The 2022 Ford Bronco Outer Banks Advanced is engineered for drivers seeking long-term value, with a focus on reliability, strong resale, and proven performance. Known for its rugged build and advanced features, this SUV offers a compelling ownership proposition, blending modern technology with the durability expected from the Bronco name.

Pragmatic buyers who prioritize lasting reliability and robust construction will appreciate the Bronco’s design. Its 4WD system and integrated roll-over protection make it ideal for those needing a versatile vehicle for daily driving and off-road adventures. Families and outdoor enthusiasts benefit from its advanced safety and comfort features, ensuring peace of mind and enjoyable journeys.

Under the hood, the Bronco uses a 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, a combination renowned for both efficiency and longevity. Owners report the powertrain commonly surpasses 150,000 miles with routine maintenance. Its engineering emphasizes low long-term service costs, making it a smart choice for those who value reliable performance over years of ownership.

Active safety features like ABS brakes, electronic stability control, traction control, brake assist, and an exterior parking camera add up to comprehensive protection. Dual front and side-impact airbags, plus 911 Assist emergency communication, further safeguard occupants, reinforcing the Bronco’s value as an investment in both safety and security for years to come.

This SUV includes the Outer Banks Advanced package, providing heated door mirrors, advanced infotainment with SiriusXM 360L, remote keyless entry, and a hard top with sound deadening headliner for quieter rides. The sound system, steering wheel audio controls, and automatic headlights enhance daily usability while the versatile interior adapts to changing needs.

Compared to segment rivals like the Jeep Wrangler Sahara and Toyota 4Runner SR5, the Bronco stands out with a more modern turbocharged engine, advanced active safety features, and strong resale value. Its lower anticipated depreciation and robust reliability record make it a leader in long-term ownership economics within the midsize SUV class.

Routine oil changes are recommended every 7,500 miles for the Bronco, keeping maintenance straightforward and predictable. Owners can expect efficiency ratings in the low-to-mid 20s mpg for mixed city and highway driving. Ford’s reliability track record contributes to lower unplanned repair costs, while the factory warranty covers major components for 3 years or 36,000 miles, with powertrain coverage extending to 5 years or 60,000 miles.

I spent months reading reviews comparing the Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Bronco. The general consensus was the Bronco is easier to live with as a daily driver. I purchased a Bronco 1.5 years ago to consolidate my SUV and Convertible into one vehicle. It's been a dream to own thus far. Highs +Adaptive cruise control, easy to move down the freeway with minimal effort + Steering - nicely weighted, even after 40k miles goes down road in straight line +Styling - people always tell me how sharp the Bronco looks +Top down - awesome to put 4 other people in and hit the road +Removing hard top - not difficult, can be done by one person +Snow - feels secure and planted in NE Ohio winter snow +Comfort - Seats are great for long road trips +Stereo - Bang and O stereo sounds fantastic +Controls - thankful for buttons and not just screens +Gas Mileage - can average in the low-mid 20's if driven cautiously + Seat warmers - hot hot hot +Room - feels much less cramped inside than Jeep Wrangler Lows -Wind Noise can be pronounced, but not anything I can't live with -Hard top is sensitive, be careful removing it you can scratch and damage it -Windshield - because of steep angle, they like to get chipped / cracked -Interior - materials look a little cheap for a 55k vehicle (except seats = so nice) -2.3L engine - doesn't sound great, but does a great job of moving you forward If you're going to be a commuter, I recommend the Outer Banks model because it comes with the least aggressive tires. It also has body colored fender flares and just looks fantastic. I bought a black one with the black painted hard top. It is quite the looker. Also, get the High/Lux package so you get the Bang and Olfusen stereo, 360 degree camera, and adaptive cruise control. I usually change vehicles every 1-2 years, but I absolutely love this one and plan to keep it until the new model comes out. The fact that it was designed and built in America also speaks to me. The Bronco community and number of people that admire this vehicle will really surprise you. After nearly 40,000 miles I am firmly in the Bronco camp and plan to stay here for awhile!

I have a 2024 Ford Bronco Outer Banks with the 2.3L. No issues at all. Drove it across country and it was comfortable. I bought mine with a hard top because I live in a climate with snow and wanted more security. I would recommend it.
